UV Yadav powers Mavericks past Blasters 🏆

🌤️ First ball: 75°F, 77% humidity, part clouds, 3 mph breeze.

Austin Blasters won the toss and elected to bowl, and Mavericks promptly treated the opening overs like a polite conversation: low volume, occasional sparkle. Shiva Perumalsamy began with a miserly over, while Manish Landge got the scoreboard moving before stepping aside on 8. Nikhil Obili then arrived with considerably less interest in politeness, launching 14 off 9 before Shiva found him in the fourth over. Sudersan Jayanthi Sridharan followed with a six, but Sravan G’s over brought the second breakthrough, leaving Mavericks 34/2 and looking briefly human. 😄

The innings changed personality in the middle. Sravan struck again in the eighth, Aditya Gulkotwar claimed one in the tenth, and the squeeze suddenly had teeth. Then came over 13: Arpit Sanghavi conceded 22, with Vinod Yadav taking the invitation personally. Prashant Sinha answered in the fourteenth with 2/3, the sort of spell that makes a batting side check whether the chairs are still available. Shiva returned for a tidy third over, finishing with 1/12, while Prashant’s second spell completed a superb 3/9. 🧊

Fortunately for Mavericks, UV Yadav had not finished making the morning inconvenient. After his first spell of 20 off 12, he came back late and added 17, then 10 more at the finish; Vinod Yadav supplied the other major surge, returning to add 13 after his first 20 off 9. Their late hitting turned 131 into 155/9, with the last over costing 15 and featuring two sixes. UV ended on 47 off 29, Vinod on 33 off 19, and Mavericks had built a total that came with a warning label. 🔥

Austin Blasters began with Arpit Sanghavi’s three early fours, but Parth Shirolawala’s second over brought the first wicket and the chase never quite found a calm rhythm. UV Yadav then delivered the day’s quiet masterpiece: 1/0 in his first over, eventually finishing with 1/5 in three, while Vinod Yadav and Sohail Mohammed kept tightening the net. Madhan Reddy battled through the middle, and Aditya Gulkotwar offered a bright 16 off 12 before the pressure reclaimed him. Even the big overs—Prithvi Aare’s 13 in the seventh and Parth’s 13 in the twelfth—only made the required climb look steeper. 🪜

The ending belonged to Sudersan Jayanthi Sridharan. His two late wickets in a 2/3 over helped turn 119/7 into 127/11, with Parth’s second wicket arriving in the same collapsing passage. Sagar Mehla, Lukesh Singla and the lower order found no escape route, and Sohail Mohammed closed with 1/20 as Blasters finished on 139/12, sixteen short. Madhan’s 28 off 31 was brave, but the Man of the Match was unmistakable: UV Yadav, 47 off 29 and 1/5—an all-round Saturday with a very loud signature. 🎉🏏
